In October 2002 a group of Firefighters wanted to help a family struggling with the devastating effects of leukemia. "Ashytn's Fire Run" was born. This endeavor received overwhelming support, greatly exceeding all expectations.
Through this event we were able to help alleviate the tremendous financial burden associated with a critically ill child. A little girl's courageous battle with a ruthless disease moved a community to action.
Since that time we have received tremendous support for a continued effort to assist families with severely ill children. We thought, "Wouldn't it be great!", to start a tradition of caring, that allowed us to continue to assist families in our community. That simple idea led to the establishment of The Dalmatian Foundation. Our goal is to be a source of hope and comfort to Wayne County families with critcally ill children.
This Foundation exists because of the selfless giving of the many that have sponsored, supported and participated in our events. Our sincere hope is that you will join us in sharing the blessing of this tradition of caring.
